Celebrating 30 Years of Toyota Trinidad & Tobago Limited
On July 17, 2026, Toyota Trinidad & Tobago Limited (TTTL) marked a significant milestone as team members gathered at our San Fernando branch for a special Town Hall Meeting commemorating our 30th anniversary.
The event provided an opportunity to reflect on our rich history, celebrate our people, and share a collective vision for the future as we continue our journey as one of Trinidad and Tobago’s most trusted automotive brands.
Reflecting on Three Decades of Excellence
Over the past 30 years, TTTL has built a legacy founded on quality, customer satisfaction, innovation, and teamwork. Employees were taken on a memorable journey through time as our Marketing Team premiered a special anniversary video showcasing the company’s history alongside Toyota’s longstanding presence in Trinidad and Tobago.
The video highlighted the remarkable story of vehicle assembly at the former Amar Toyota Factory, where Toyota motor vehicles were assembled locally for many decades, reinforcing the brand’s deep roots and enduring impact within the country.

A key feature of the Town Hall was an address from our new Managing Director, Yusuke Tatebe, who shared insights from his experience thus far in Trinidad and Tobago and outlined his vision for the future of TTTL. His message emphasized collaboration, continuous improvement, and the importance of maintaining the customer-focused values that have defined the Toyota brand for generations.
Employees also heard from departmental leaders who presented their strategic plans and priorities for the future:

Celebrating Our People
No anniversary celebration would be complete without recognizing the dedicated team members who have contributed significantly to our success.
Special awards were presented to longstanding employees whose 30 years of service exemplify the values of Toyota:

- Dean Lalgee, Senior Parts Advisor
- Ramdath Basdeo, Senior Parts Advisor
- Anthony Prosper, Technician
Their dedication, professionalism, and years of service have helped shape the organization we proudly celebrate today.
Additionally, special recognition was given to Merv Liverpool who represented our Service Technicians at the Toyota Caribbean Skills Contest in Jamaica and won third place, in April 2026.
We also extended special recognition to our Pre-Delivery Inspection (PDI) Team, who were unable to attend due to critical port clearance operations. Their contribution was acknowledged at the opening of the event, highlighting the important role they play in ensuring operational excellence every day.
Inspiration to Close the Celebration
The day continued with an uplifting note with a motivational presentation from Jerome Priscilla, better known by his stage name Itz Rome. His inspiring message encouraged employees to pursue excellence, embrace purpose, and remain resilient in the face of challenges. He also treated attendees to a live performance featuring selections from his musical catalogue.
Open Dialogue and Team Engagement
The Town Hall reinforced TTTL’s commitment to transparency and communication. Employees were encouraged to ask questions, share perspectives, and engage directly with leadership. Team members were also reminded of the company’s long-standing open-door policy, which fosters a culture of trust, accessibility, and continuous dialogue.
Adding to the spirit of collaboration, employees participated in a team-building activity that encouraged connection, teamwork, and engagement across departments.
