In every corner of Toyota, on the showroom floor, behind service bays, inside planning rooms, and throughout corporate corridors, there are women whose stories often unfold quietly but whose impact resonates loudly. They are leaders, innovators, problem-solvers, and bridge-builders. And together, they keep Toyota Trinidad & Tobago Limited driving forward.

This year, as we celebrate International Women’s Day (IWD) under the global theme “Give to Gain,” we are reminded that progress is a shared journey.

In this special edition of The TTTL Newsletter, we highlight some of the women who keep Toyota moving, their journeys, their passions, their wisdom, and the ways in which they embody “Give to Gain” through the work they do every day. Their stories are blueprints for progress and reminders that when women rise, organisations rise with them.

Christy-Marie Ramkissoon

Meet Christy‑Marie Ramkissoon, our vibrant Showroom Host (Business Support & Strategy) who joined the Toyota family in 2025. With six years of Customer Service Experience and a true passion for cars, she brings warmth and professionalism to every customer interaction. Christy‑Marie credits the incredible women in her life for pushing her to grow.

The 2026 IWD theme “Give to Gain” perfectly reflects her approach. For her, every moment with a customer is an opportunity to give, whether it’s exceptional service, a warm welcome, or small gestures that make their day easier.

A personal achievement she’s proud of? Finding a career that aligns with her passion as a car enthusiast, making her work at Toyota truly fulfilling.

Leslie-Ann Caines

For the past eleven years, Leslie‑Ann Caines has been a dedicated Booker/Service Support Professional at Toyota Trinidad and Tobago Limited, bringing warmth, efficiency, and excellence to every customer interaction. Throughout her tenure, she has served in several key roles, each contributing to her deep understanding of customer needs and operational excellence. In addition to her primary duties, Leslie‑Ann also serves as the Safety Officer for the Service Department and is an active member of the Toyota Safety Committee, demonstrating her commitment to creating a secure, supportive, and customer‑focused environment.

Equipped with a Diploma in Business Administration and certifications in Persuasive Speaking and Communication, she has built a career grounded in connection and service. Leslie‑Ann credits the women (mentors, colleagues, and customers) who have guided her with collaboration, encouragement, and shared wisdom, shaping her growth and giving her the confidence to navigate challenges.

One of her proudest achievements is mastering the balance between her career and her family life; showing up fully in both. With a journey defined by loyalty, service, and excellence, Leslie‑Ann is also a passionate public speaking enthusiast who continues to inspire through both her voice and her work.

Venicia Scott Ochoa

With an impressive nineteen-year tenure at Toyota Trinidad & Tobago Limited, Venecia Scott Ochoa, Senior Service Advisor, stands as a pillar of dedication, experience, and leadership within the organisation. Throughout her career, she has benefitted from the guidance of strong women whose mentorship and leadership, rooted in Toyota’s culture of diversity and collaboration, have shaped her professional growth and supported her journey.

The 2026 International Women’s Day theme, “Give to Gain,” deeply aligns with Venecia’s approach to her work. To her, it means sharing knowledge generously, uplifting others in her department, and helping colleagues recognise and embrace their full potential. She leads by example, fostering an environment where growth is collective and success is shared.

Among the many accomplishments in her career, one of her proudest moments was winning first place in Toyota’s workplace Carnival calypso competition in 2020, showcasing her vibrant personality and love for cultural expression.

Vanessa Nanan

Vanessa Nanan, Procurement Assistant in the Parts Department, has been a valued member of Toyota Trinidad & Tobago Limited, contributing focus, efficiency, and a strong commitment to growth. Armed with a Bachelor’s Degree in Business Management and a minor in Human Resource Management from the University of the West Indies, she brings academic excellence and fresh perspective to her role.

Throughout her journey, Vanessa has been guided and inspired by the mentorship of women whose leadership, collaboration, and resilience have shaped her professional development. Their examples continue to influence her approach to teamwork and problem‑solving.

Her advice to other women in the automotive industry is empowering: “Don’t be afraid to take initiative, ask questions, and seek mentorship. Growth often comes from stepping outside your comfort zone.”

She champions the idea that women’s creativity, adaptability, and collaborative spirit are powerful assets that can help shape the future of the industry. Vanessa is especially proud of graduating from UWI with her Bachelor’s degree at just 22 years old, an achievement that reflects her discipline and drive.

Tamika Niles

Tamika Niles, Booking Agent in the Service Department, joined Toyota Trinidad & Tobago Limited in 2024, bringing dedication, focus, and a commitment to growth to her role. Currently pursuing a Professional Diploma, she continues to invest in her development while contributing meaningfully to the organisation.

The 2026 International Women’s Day theme, “Give to Gain,” resonates deeply with her daily approach. To Tamika, giving means contributing positively in every interaction, sharing knowledge, supporting her teammates, and consistently improving work processes. By giving her best to those around her, she believes Toyota gains a stronger, more connected, and more efficient team.

Tamika describes her Toyota journey in three words: Learning, Teamwork, Improvement, a reflection of the growth‑oriented path she continues to build.

Outside of work, Tamika loves spending time with her kids and is dedicated to expanding her knowledge in financial markets, especially stocks, forex, and commodities.

Amelia Petit

For over 16 years, Amelia Petit, Administrative Booking Assistant, has been a steady and dedicated part of Toyota Trinidad & Tobago. As a hardworking single mother, she draws strength from the women who have mentored, supported, and inspired her throughout her career serving as mirrors, bridges, and anchors along her journey.

The IWD 2026 theme “Give to Gain” reflects her personal philosophy: give excellence to build reputation, give support to build a network, give professionalism to earn respect, and give consistency to achieve stability.

Amelia’s proudest achievement is being a mother, describing her children as the best of her.

Outside of work, she enjoys cooking and is a proud dog mom.

Cindy Siewsankar

For 17 years, Cindy Siewsankar, Assistant Finance Manager at Toyota Trinidad & Tobago, has demonstrated unwavering dedication, discipline, and passion within the Finance Department. A qualified Fellow of Chartered Certified Accountant and Chartered Accountant, she has built a strong career anchored in technical excellence, leadership, and commitment to Toyota’s values.

Cindy credits much of her inspiration to the women in her life, beginning with her cousin, a Chief Financial Officer, who first nurtured her interest in accounting during her CXC years. Female colleagues and friends throughout her ACCA journey continued to motivate her, while national women leaders and her Hindu faith reinforce her belief in the strength, capability, and importance of women in society.

Her accomplishments reflect both professional achievement and cultural pride. Cindy has won multiple competitions in Indian dance, singing, and Ramayan recitation; hosted and executed major cultural events; advocated for Ramleela as a member of the National Ramleela Council; supported children’s homes through charitable work; and taught accounting to youth in her community. She has earned notable academic and professional credentials, including her FCCA and CA designations, Crestcom leadership training, and the Youth in Culture Award from SWAHA Inc.

As we celebrate the remarkable women who continue to drive Toyota Trinidad & Tobago Limited forward, we extend our appreciation not only to those featured in this article, but also to the many women whose contributions, remain invaluable to our organisation.
